What TranscriptExporter Does
TranscriptExporter is a Chrome extension with one purpose: bulk export your meeting transcripts from platforms like Fathom, Fireflies, and Zoom - and, for Fathom, the video and audio recordings of your meetings.
We connect securely to your account using approved methods to retrieve your content. Transcripts and recordings travel directly from your meeting platform to your computer or your own cloud storage. Your transcript and recording content is never stored on our servers.
What Data We Collect
When You Purchase
- • Your name and email address
- • Payment information (processed by Stripe, not stored by us)
When You Use the Extension
- • Your license key (to verify your purchase)
- • Device fingerprint (to prevent license sharing)
- • Basic usage stats (number of transcripts exported and recordings downloaded)
- • Diagnostic logs (export and sync events or errors, tied to your license key, so we can fix problems - never transcript or recording content)
- • Your IP address (for security)
What We DON'T Collect
- • Your transcript or recording content (transcripts and video/audio files travel directly from the meeting platform to your device or your own cloud storage - never through our servers)
- • Your browsing history
- • Your personal files
- • Your account passwords or credentials
- • API keys you add (stored locally in your browser only, used to talk to your meeting platform directly)
Pro Features: Cloud Storage Access (Optional)
If you upgrade to Pro and connect cloud storage, we access:
- • Google Drive: Permission to create files and folders only. We never read, modify, or delete your existing files.
- • Dropbox: Permission to upload files to a specific folder only. We never access your other Dropbox content.
OAuth tokens are stored locally in your browser extension only - never on our servers. You can disconnect at any time from the extension settings.
If you subscribe to Pro + Video, your meeting recordings are uploaded the same way: streamed directly from your meeting platform to your own cloud storage. Recording files never pass through our servers.
How We Use Your Data
- Email you your license key and receipt after purchase
- Send occasional product emails related to TranscriptExporter (e.g. follow-ups if you started checkout but didn't finish, a check-in after you buy, notes about the Pro upgrade, and occasional outreach about related services). Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link and we honor it immediately.
- Verify you paid when you use the extension
- Prevent license sharing across too many devices (3 device limit)
- Improve the extension based on usage patterns
- Provide customer support when you contact us
Email Communications
When you enter your email address on our checkout page or buy a license, you may receive emails from us related to TranscriptExporter:
- Transactional emails (always sent): license key delivery, payment receipt/invoice, and replies to support tickets you open.
- Product emails (you can unsubscribe at any time): a short follow-up if you start checkout but don't complete it, a check-in a couple days after purchase, an occasional note about the Pro upgrade, and from time to time related services we offer.
Every product email contains a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. When you click it, we stop sending you product emails immediately and permanently. You'll still receive transactional emails (license keys, receipts, support replies) since those are required to deliver the product you bought.
Who We Share Data With
Stripe
Processes your payment securely (you'll see "Stripe" or "TranscriptExporter" on your card statement).
Email Service Provider
A reputable third-party service we use to deliver our emails to you (license key, receipt, product follow-ups, support replies).
Hosting and Database Providers
Industry-standard cloud providers that host our website and securely store your license details.
AI and Search APIs
Used to research publicly available company information when we send occasional related-service outreach. We never share your transcripts or extension usage data with these providers.
We don't sell your data to anyone. We don't share it with advertisers or data brokers.
How We Protect Your Data
